Face Of Black

Face of Black

Face of Black is an online pro-unity campaign that celebrates diversity by showcasing Ugandan creatives and their works. The initiative was founded by Godwin Ochieng, it’s curator in chief, in 2017. By profiling the works and stories of select designers, Face of Black brings together creatives whose work evokes pride in their origins and cultural heritage.

In so doing, we advocate for peace and co-existence in a country with several ethnic and tribal divides.

Our Goal

Our goal is to partner with designers and creatives like you to advocate for unity in diversity. Face of Black envisions a world whose citizens celebrate their differences as a tool for peace and unity – not as weapons of war. Uganda is just a starting point. If the people of the earth’s most diverse country can be united by their differences, surely the whole world can. We are looking for like-minded creatives to support this cause.

How you can help

We need you to consent to the display of your works on the Face of Black website. In addition to exhibiting your creations, we request consent to an interview to write an escorting story for our blog. This consent will extend to the use of your pictures and contact info that you share with us for the site.

Benefits

Face of Black is strictly not a marketplace for creatives. However, we will provide links for our visitors to contact our featured designers directly. Our site serves to market your creations. Given the information you have provided, your profile on our site adds to your references for fans and supporters of your projects.

By associating yourself with a great cause, you stand to grow your corporate image and contribute toward a campaign for co-existence and peace.
